exactly right owt 2 of the biggest moaners from day 1 i  met outside the next cruise shop thingy and they were debating which cruise they were going to book. i said i thought you didnt like the c

i assure you i am not making this up. we docked in the azores this morning. last night the sea was a mill pond and i was sat outside the east bar puffing on my e-cig, bacardi etc in hand enj

ok i accept i am now guilty of exactly what is rapidly ruining a perfectly good cruise. i am on the arcadia 24 nights to/from southampton to the carribeaan. paid £3k just over for an inside cabin

I can see an opportunity for P&O and their bean counters to make some money if you reserve a sunbed before 8am there willl be a charge and a further charge for those that want to reserve a sunbed around the pools.

I hope not, not that I reserve sunbeds but when in warmer climes I've been known to be out on deck by 7.00 am but that isn't to put a towel on it and then disappear, I do usually reserve one for my husband as he is always a couple of hours behind me but I don't consider it to be 'ours' and would give it up if someone wanted it .. never round the pool though far to noisy :o

We use to put the TV on when getting ready for breakfast on Oceana , and the web cam was focused on the pool deck, we saw the same people every morning claiming their sunbeams and bagging the prime spot's? One morning there was a tropical storm and they got soaked.

That night the Cruise Director Rob Boyd ,told the audience in the theatre how he had seen the "Bed Hoggers" get "pxss wet through " Boyd was an American CD .

And we use to blame the German's when the bed's were claimed in Spain???.....Davybe

brightened up loveley here in antigua, had a wander up to the shops and bar 11ish.

back just in time for the highlight so far.

theres a sailing away party tonight on deck 9 aft so all the bednappers beds got cleared and stacked as theyve put out 3 rows of tables and chairs each side of the deck leaving about 30 beds in the centre. still about 20 empty so i dont see what all the whining moaning and grumbling was about.

but boy was it funny !!!! my sides still hurt.

well whilst it was great to see the bednappers inconvenianced by the preparations for the carribean sailaway party from antigua the reason for it was abysmal.

a carribean sailaway party was advertised however not one bit of reggae, steel band or even ub40. i dont know what the music was but i was told it was some sort of south american beat bop club music whatever that is. all i can tell you is it was c###. no atmosphere at all.

after 20 minutes the only people left were the hard core smokers.

whoever organised it should be keel hauled.

avoid more people lol.

the cruise as ive said is great the cabin, food, staff etc its the passengers that drive me mad.

i will stay in the smoking areas and casino it seems the sane live there lol.

the shipping of the case, train down etc worked like a dream on board ive been able to get work done when necessary.

so as i am restricted to no fly holidays for the forseeable future its an on the whole an enjoyable experience.

the moaners i treat as light releif and i hope some amusement for me and anyone who reads my drivel.

the cruise has made me realise i can handle a good number of sea days so i may attempt more longer cruises.

i just need to monitor the painful bits and limbs and it can work.

If you look at his other thread on forum he has had internet/computer issues.

sorry pesky,

its been a relative moan free zone the last few days. ive been updating the other thread with just cruise stuff, i was leaving this one for the comedy moments. now were back at sea i will probably encounter them again.

they are mostly sat outside the cruise booking offices whinging to each other while they sort out their next cruise its wierd like a coven of witches or the women under the guillotine, ripping apart this cruise to each other and then comparing notes on the cruise they are going to book. its like a les dawson sketch.

nora batty meets ena sharples. then theres a group of husbands off to the side trying to get football results. a comedy writer would have a field day.

each time ive walked past the numbers stay pretty constant just the individuals change.

its amazing all the things they consider wrong about each ship the crews the itineries etc i am sure one of the girls on reception just accross the room wet herself.

you keep seeing the receptionists heads duck below counter level trying not to laugh out loud. the coven seem oblivious to the fact theres at least 6 crew members can hear every word they say as its an open plan area.

Met a couple on a P&O cruise who proceeded to complain about the service, the food , the entertainment, the cleanliness of the ship and generally decry P&O as compared to all the other lines they had used - which they claimed to be at leas

t 5 others. When i asked if this was their first experience of P&O the response was "Oh, no. this is our 6th and every one has been the same" If it's that bad why keep coming????

I believe that some people would have no conversation if they didn't  complain

up early again today clocks went forward lol.

the greater spotted bednappers were out in force which is quite comical as until after 12 its fairly deserted plenty of empty beds and evn when it gets busy i counted at least 10 not occupied/reserved after 2pm. and thats just the rear pool deck. as thats the one i frequent as it has a smoking area. again they were out mugging the girl before she even finished undoing the rope.

the nest of the lesser spotted bednapper, the males were sent to sour the upper decks for the small tables as they dont put any on the pool deck.

the nest was created at 07.40 but then deserted and remained empty until 09.30 when i went below.

note they come prepared with huge pegs to secure towels some even have huge elastic bands made out of 3inch wide elastic obviously custom made as they just fit the beds.

ok it couldnt last, the captains just been on, the next 48 hrs are going to get lumpy, 5 metre swells.

secure any loose objects etc etc. pria de vitoria is out on friday and la corruna spain is on as substitute on sunday as moving east will reduce the bad wweather effects.

now to any sensible person this is nothing more than a logical decision on safety grounds and at worst a minor inconveniance you would think. the captain has said all daytrips paid for will be automatically refunded and in due course they will announce trips etc for spain.

no problem you would think.

oh no the back seat navigators and sea experts are out in force, its not that bad he could get in its a conspiracy hes incompetant and of course those wanting compensation. for what for gods sake your still getting a port day just a different country the forcast for spain is sun the forecast for the azores is high winds and pouring rain i know which i would prefer.

Haha I love these people, I find them brilliant entertainment. Don't you find that there's always one person that complains and wants compensation because he/she has done this cruise solely to go to the one port that has been cancelled or changed?! As if they weren't bothered about the rest of the itinerary at all, it was just that one port! I'm sure in some cases it's true but you can usually spot the genuine from the fake.

I have no issue whatsoever with cruise lines making any changes to itineraries for the purpose of safety. I'd much rather be happier and safe than take any unnecessary risks and I cannot wrap my head around those that complain when such decisions are made.

On our recent p and o cruise about two nights before the end of what was a 16 night  cruise a lady  told me she was fed up with eating lamb every night (not once on the cruise had I eaten lamb).

i suggested that if she was not happy with the food to complain. To that she replied that she would write as soon as she got home. For once I was speechless!!
