mitch 325
OMG BACK SEAT NAVIGATORS NOW lol today the capt came on at noon with his usual update. apparently he has been contacted by concerned passengers asking what hes doing regarding tropical storm ophelia which is 300 miles south of us. poor bloke then had to explain ITS 300 MILES AWAY. hes sailing away from it not towards it and at the worst it may get a bit lumpy around midnight but thats as much as it will affect us. my god i feel for the crew. what do these people do all day. your on holiday for gods sake. thank goodness the drink of the day is a double pina colada. wonder if you can stock up lol. mitch 325
well its 5am again and again guess who forgot to put his clock back again, i will get the hang of this. i think we have to do it two or three times more so i may be right one morning. mildly lumpy overnight but only woke me once poss due to pina colada overload hic! doesnt feel too bad this morning bit difficult to tell in an inside cabin lol. fantastic entertainment last night elektra a violin duo very very good. everything from high classical to gypsy to ho down and bond themes. very entertaining, Edited October 13, 2017 by mitch time
mitch 325
fairly quiet day so far wind f5/6 but not very lumpy. no sign of tropical storms so the back seat navigators will be disapointed. 24 degrees and 16 knots so a trip to the pool deck might be in order, not much cloud. mitch 325
the back seat navigators will be most disappointed max seas so far maybe 3m. and it didnt feel very lumpy at all, although a couple were moaning at breakfast you would have thought we had done a passage through the south atlantic everyone else felt they had been on a different ship to the rest of us,they were most put out when someone said nah that wasnt rough. i have to say i feel rather juvenile on here, at 58 i was some 25 years younger than any of yeaterdays lunchtime companions on a table for 8 i was the only one under 85. and shock horror i work! mitch 325
please please ladies i know i am on my own but i am not looking. what is it about elderley ladies that makes them think they are the matchmaker from fiddler on the roof. i do not want to meet your daughter/granddaughter. anyway i dont think they are looking for an overweight bald 58 year old even if i have my own teeth. a particularly persistent 89 year old matriarch interogated me yesterday like she was judging some prize bull she wanted to introduce to her herd. apparently she has an unmarried daughter 2 granddaughters and a couple of neices. mitch 325
well finally sussed the clocks thingy and woke at a reasonable time for breakfast. was even able to be organised so i could go into the buffet just after 7 and then out to the smoking area by the pool. beutiful day calm super sunrise collared a chair in the sun at the edge of the smoking area and did my physio like a good boy,doc will be pleased. couple of cups of coffee and even risked removing the shirt, factor 50 required. the captain did warn the greenpeace whaling bods. hadnt realised how much fun can be had watching the sunbed wars unfold. the nabbers were there 0715 with their towels and accessorys nabbing a bed from the pile and then disappearing. the creww came out around 7.30 to unpack the beds and lay them out, even they shook their heads when they saw half a dozen had already been taken and positioned. then came the supervisors with their slaves, one poor slave had 3 generations of masters (mother wife and daughter) poor lad 3/4s of an hour he had to move and re-move 3 beds with counter instructions from each master. after an hour or so he was allowed to slope off to the buffet with instructions to go back to the cabin and get that flowery hat for mum as its too windy for the one shes brought.and no he cant watch the football mum wants to go to the acupuncture demo. boy i love travelling alone. nearly got trampelled in the rush when i left my prime position lounger. mitch 325
antigua, very humid first thing a few squally showers but has brightened beutifully. had a walk off up to the shops, just on my limit i was flagging by the time i got back to the ramp. but a very pleasant hour, even got given a free drink when the barman saw my veterans badge and aru shirt. and he wouldnt take no thanks as an answer lol. so 2 rather potent rum punches before lunch i think means a lazy afternoon. thats my excuse and i am sticking to it. mitch 325
haha made my day. theres a sailing away party tonight. and its on the aft deck nine so all the sunbed nabbers got moved and their sunbeds stacked so they could put 3 rows of tables and chairs out both sides of the deck. so it just left 30 or so sunbeds in the middle. there was much muttering and grumbling. i was in stitches. still about 20 odd empty beds so i dont see the problem.
