cruise chef 866
I've recently booked to try out Celebrity Eclipse on the short voyage next year, but I've been to Paris before so don't fancy the trip for the day. Has anyone been to Le Havre and does it have anything to offer or should I enjoy the ship for the day?
sinbad10 757
We have been numerous times with Princess and we always stay on the ship.
Captain Kidd II 798
Try going ashore and you may be pleasantly suprised - you can always return if you are not!
smtcan 274
We usually rent a car for the day. We have been to Honfleur, and other nearby towns and also when we had a long port day we visited the Normandy beaches. There are some very interesting areas without taking the long journey to Paris. Terminator 916
Try Harfleur...about 6 miles east of Le Havre and easily reachable by public transport notably the train takes about 10 minutes and costs a couple of euros. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harfleur
loz6 136
I have only been once and decided to stay on the ship as it was a short cruise so wanted to make the most of being on board. I have heard many people speak of Honfleur so may be worth having a look

Captain Kidd II 798
Honfleur is a lovely town by the he sea. As Terminator said, only 6 miles away. Eas a fishing village but now has nice restuarants. Perhaps good for a few hours.

cruise chef 866
Thanks for the advice, I think a stretch of the legs sounds in order rather than staying onboard Captain Kidd II

Captain Kidd II 798
Not Honfleur...Harfleur....do keep up dear boy.. Have you ever been there Terminator? I have .......it is definately Honfleur that I an referring to. Icould give you the history of the village if I coukd be bothered but it would be lost on you. The village is 20 minutes away by taxi (25km) and well worth the trip.
