Captain Kidd II 798
Welcome and congratulations. Aurora is a lovely ship, our favourite, and I am sure you will enjoy her. We are sailing on her in both June and September next year. To help with advice what sort of things do you like and what type of cabin are you thinking about?

Pmr 0
Need to travel in late November as our anniversary is on the 25th. We are thinking that we would like a balcony to sit and e joy our G&T's! Unsure re decks etc although we do like quiet.
Captain Kidd II 798
If you can go for B deck, mid ships or even C deck. A deck can be a little noisy early in the morning. You may find your balcony a little chilly in November but it will still be great. Laundry facilities are on A starboard and c deck which might be worth thinking about if you are into washing and ironing - we like to get ours sorted before we go home. Pmr 0
What about formal evenings? Will be popping in to BC club shortly.
Captain Kidd II 798
People do bother with these. Our last 14 day cruise had 4 formals. What is nice about Aurora is the retractable roof which gives a great space if the weather is poor and the roof is covered.
Neil Woodley 0
on the topic of 'going the extra mile', and tipping, going on our first cruise in November on Azamara, my sentiment was to leave half of the 'tip' for the steward at the start of the voyage and if service acceptable, then the final half at the end. ( the word 'tip' originally meaning 'To Insure Promptness'. But, how much should it be; $100 in total?? and do you pay extra for someone to do their job when tips are included in the pric e being paid?
HthrEdmndsn 88
Neil, tip does not mean 'to insure promptness' http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2012/09/what-is-the-origin-of-the-word-tip-as-in-leaving-a-tip/. To be grammatically corrorrect it would be to ensure promptness or tep. Nor does posh mean port out starboard home.

All gratuities on Azamara are included so no need to 'tip' and they are not expected.
