harley1 152
Thought it would be handy to compile a list of ships that allow smoking and where onboard, to help the smokers and non smokers of the crusing world! any posts would be appreciated!
Land Ahoy 797
Hi All cruise lines allow smoking in some outside areas of the ships. Even lines which have bans on smoking in inside spaces (RCI and Celebrity) from sailings for the UK do have some lounges which smoking is permitted for sailings from countries for which smoking is more prevalent. I therefore think it would be difficult to have a comprehensive list as one ship may have a total smoking ban for indoor areas in one cruise area but may have a more relaxed code in a different region. RiverSong 403
This is a difficult one as the cruise lines have been known to change their policy at any given time like Holland America and NCL did last year. MSC will let you light up in the Casino, but I haven’t heard of any that let you smoke in cabins even on the balcony’s. Other forum members may know different be interesting to see as my partner smokes?
sammy sun 1084
I'm not fully aware of their current policy as it's been a few years since I sailed with them but when I last cruised with Holland America in 2011 smoking was permitted in a wide range of public areas on board. It didn't bother me much at all and at the few times it did we tended to steer clear of these areas as my wife and I are non-smokers. There were dedicated bars for smokers on board and not just outside areas. Not sure if their policy has changed now.
harley1 152
i heard that cunard let you smoke in the cabins but not on the balconies??? this sounds a bit backwards tho is this still the case?
sammy sun 1084
Does sound backward doesn't it and seemingly the opposite of many other cruise lines. I'm not an experienced Cunarder so cannot say for certain but your right he does sound strange.
Pesky Pirate 162
I believe that the smoking in cabins only relates to e-cigs and not normal smoking stuff.
