Guest linda23
Has anyone done a trip to Bruges is it worth getting organised trips or go it alone in a taxi. We are on Queen Mary2 leaving Southampton 12 December 2014 Many thanks
buggalugs 44
I did a 4 night cruise on QM2 last November - including Bruges. It is worth getting the shuttle coach to the town of Blankenburge and then getting the train into Bruges approx costs 8 euros return and dead easy. The tours on board will cost you about £50 pp sista
iknowlescourier 207
Agree with buggalugs. Do it independently. Don't forget to validate your train ticket.
dst87 353
Add my support to the idea of doing it yourself. Unfortunately the trains are very infrequent and I think one was cancelled when we were there. Nonetheless it's the easiest way of going. Many other people got the bus when they discovered the train was cancelled. We ended up hanging about in Blankenberg while we waited which may be one of the most depressing little seaside towns I've seen. it was dead, and the weather was miserable. rachel 44
Hi linda23, I have been to Brugges a few times on short breaks and have alwasy got the train form Blankenburg. I have found it to be very srtaight forward and it is quite a nice walk up through the town form the station. Last time I was there before Christmas they had lots of ice sculptures outside the train station, well worth a look.

Nick 30
We got a taxi from the ship into Brugge on the market sqaure I think was 50 euro, we got the train back though and it worked really well. The Ice sculptures were fantastic it was all the Disney chartactors when we went but i understand they do a different theme each year.
cruise chef 866
Its probably eaiser to do by yourself, the ships normally provide a shuttle service to blankenburg, go the the rail station ask for a return ticket and its a short train ride to brugge station.
