Stan Smith 1
I have good reason to remember that view of the Britannia leaving Gibraltar. I was on the Azura which had been moored alongside. I broke my ankle in a fall on top of the Rock and was taken to Gibraltar hospital where I was patched up. The Azura was due to sail at 2pm and I was still being treated at 1.45pm. A request was made to delay the sail time and I was rushed to the quayside by taxi. As we approached I saw the back end of this cruise ship sailing away. As we got nearer I heaved a big sigh of relief when I found it was the Britannia. I just made it back on the Azura and it sailed twenty minutes late. I look forward to a more pleasant view of the Britannia when we join it to celebrate our Diamond Wedding (60 years) in April next year. The only thing is we are due back in Gibraltar on the 13th of all dates. Better stick to Main Street this time!! DavidH
Oldworldtraveller 2225
I was also on Azura Stan. Hope the ankle is now better. OWT
