Very good review, makes me want to book with Fred Olsen.
-
Very good deal if you can get the time off and are well ahead with your Christmas arrangements.
-
Glad you asked this question as we will be cruising to the Canaries for Christmas. Have not thought about what to take yet,.

Should Speciality Restaurants Cost Extra?
cruise addict replied to Oldworldtraveller's topic in Dining / Drinks
We always like to try the specialty restaurants. The table is yours for the evening so you are never rushed. The service is much better than in the main restaurants and there are always extra "treats". These restaurants are also much quieter and there are plenty of tables for two. Guess that is why we have to pay extra . . -
As usual a few people have abused the system and the majority suffer. We had an email from P and O advising us of its new policy. As we only ever take a couple of bottles of wine on board It will not affect us. Never worn fancy dress but have dressed on on the tropical nights, will these now be discountinued?

Are P&O Trying To Stop Stag/Hen Party On Short Break Cruises?
cruise addict replied to RiverSong's topic in P&O Cruises
On two week cruises we have seen people (mainly men) on formal nights dressed in T shirts and jeans and been allowed into the main restaurants on P & O ships. Many years ago my husband took his bow tie off in the crows nest and was asked to put it back on or go to another venue. How times and standards have changed.. -
We have done several cruises at Christmas. Always had a fantastic time. P & O make it special and needless to say not having to shop, cook and wash up makes it even more enjoyable.

I had a look at the site and found it very useful. Thanks.

WHY WOULD YOU GO WITH P&O (OMG STOP MOANING)
cruise addict replied to mitch's topic in General Cruise Rants
On our recent p and o cruise about two nights before the end of what was a 16 night cruise a lady told me she was fed up with eating lamb every night (not once on the cruise had I eaten lamb). i suggested that if she was not happy with the food to complain. To that she replied that she would write as soon as she got home. For once I was speechless!! -
Normally they do it on the cruise before the Christmas one.
-
Yes,we have booked freedom dining.
-
I have received an email from P and O today to ask me what time we want to eat on Christmas Day and New years eve. Both night will be formal. Our choice was 5.30 or 8pm. hope this 8nformation is of some use to you.
-
Last time we were on a Christmas cruise it was Christmas Eve that was the formal night. New Years eve was also formal.
-
When we went there I was hoping to visit the site of where they film Death in Paradise. But that was on the other side of the island about 4 hours away. We just did a general sightseeing tour.
-
We too have received our tickets etc.for our Christmas cruise. I was pleasantly surprised to receive them so early. Well done P and O.
-
I would still go. These islands depend on tourisum and need all the help they can get. Unfortunatly I will not be going this winter as we had already booked a cruise yo the Canary Islands.
-
What a shame.
-
Glad you had a good time and hope you enjoy all your future cruises.
-
Yes, you are correct. If you can it is worth upgrading to premium. It is a lovely aircraft.
-
Have they refurbished the cinema?
-
We enjoyed cruising on her, but I guess P & O did not make enough profit with her and find that they make more on the large ships. We will miss her.

We have been on several Christmas cruises but have never even thought about giving gifts to the staff (just give them tips at the end of the cruise). You have made me think that perhaps I should take a few small bars of chocolate on our cruise this Christmas as suggested by HthrEmndsn. I am starting to feel a bit mean and thoughtless not having to done something in the past.

We do prefer to have a balcony. Love to get up in the morning and watch the ship dock. We visited the Fjords last year in late May, had beautiful weather and the balcony was well worth the extra cost as the scenery is beautiful and to sit on the balcony late into the evening before going to bed with the sun just setting is something special.
