  1. After seeing Royal Caribbean relax their dress code once more, this time to allow shorts on casual evenings, do you think we’re starting to see the domino’s fall towards the end of dress codes altogether? I love formal nights, I think it’s a lovely thing that separates cruising from other types of holidays and I hope they remain but it seems as though more and more people prefer casual attire at night and the older ways are slowly fading away.
  2. The Sainsbury's ad featuring the WW1 temporary truce in the trenches on Christmas day trounces all the other ads by the big supermarkets. Made in conjunction with the Royal British Legion. ! Christmas is for sharing !
  3. Following intense solar activity, the Northern Lights were seen over parts of Derbyshire last night. Normally only seen from the far North of Scotland and Norway its very unusual to see them so far South. For those stargazers out there and if you missed out last night, P&O's Oriana has just released details of two sailings in 2016 to the Artic Circle to get a good view of the lights. The 12 night Southampton departures fall on 25th February and 8th March 2016. If you're looking to go before then, there are sailings on 5th March & 17th March 2015, again on Oriana.
  4. Talking of food, for those budding chef's out there the Holland America ship Westerdam is hosting a Masterchef themed cruise. The 7 night Caribbean sailing from Fort Lauderdale on the 8th November will be hosted by Masterchef judge & worldclass chef - Graham Elliott. The cruise will be filled with fine dining experiences, speciality cocktails and tastings ! Don't forget those elasticated waitbands.
  5. Princess website saw their website traffic double following the television screening of the new series on the Royal. Twitter was also buzzing with reviews on the show. There's been a mixed response on the first programme, can't wait to see the rest.
  6. Did everyone watch the final of Britain’s Got Talent ? It makes me wonder if any of these acts make it onto a ship, what type of entertainment do you prefer on board ? Theatre Shows, Live Bands or the classic Magic Shows & Comedians? Or do you opt for something more home spun?
  7. That's for that information !. It seems like it will be a while before they aquire new ships.
  8. Is it confirmed that SeaDream are buying Seabourn's smaller yacht's ? When do they expect to have them in service ?
  9. Can’t see much on the Forum for the SeaDream yacht’s. Just want to say what a fantastic experience this is if you’re looking for something totally different to the bigger ships but luxurious and relaxed. SeaDream’s own mantra of ‘’Its yachting, not cruising’’ really says it all. The two yachts visit lesser known ports in the Caribbean and Mediterranean and give you a cruising experience normally only reserved for the super rich. I’ve travelled with them on a number of occasions and happy to answer any questions.
  10. Celebrity Cruises will broadcast the summer’s most highly anticipated sporting event, the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, on board its ships sailing to Alaska, Bermuda and Europe. This goes to show the love of our national sport. I would imagine most Cruise Lines will follow suit much to some football windows despair.
  11. hi, its only about 6 miles to the old port area in Nice but taxis are quite expensive, bank on at least 25 Euros one way.The traffic is usually very bad along the Promenade des Anglais (the main seafront road in Nice), even so shouldn't take more than 30 mins.
