  1. I have just returned today from a short cruise on Island Princess from Vancouver to. LA down the West coast of USA and Canada. i was very disappointed with Princess this time. The cost of drinks on board is astronomically high, nearly 8 dollars for a small bottle of beer. As a result there is no one in the bars ar night and the ship was dead. The cost of WIFI and laundry services was also expensive and they seem to have cut down on their dinner menu. We where constantly being hounded by photographers and people trying to sell Art. There was several alternative dining venues which carry an
  2. I would just like to say that I’m not particularly sorry to see her go. It is a common misconception that she was brought in to replace Canberra but in actual fact, she sailed alongside Canberra for about 2 years until Canberra was scrapped in Pakistan in 1997. The ship that replaced Canberra was the previous Arcadia, a much happier ship all round than Oriana ever was. She is sailing now as Columbus for Cruise and Maritime.
  3. I suppose that the reason for going larger and larger is because it brings down the staff to passenger ratio hence more profit. From my experience though, larger ships means longer ques, falling standards in restaurants, less choice of ports, poorer standards of service in general. I haven't been on Britannia and have no intention of doing so. The Ventura was enough to put me off. So sad to see the Minerva go earlier this year and I'm pleased to see Adonia back. Small is beautiful as far as I'm concerned

After initially being offered a straight 25% discount on the cruise I had selected, at the point of booking, I was then told that the free drinks package that I was initially offered had been withdrawn despite it still being advertised elsewhere. The net result was that on the 33 day cruise that I had selected, the discount offer was in fact virtually useless. The offer of a discount therefore is purely just a ploy in order to grab the All Leisure customer base and in actual fact they a

  6. I have been cruising with P&O since 1993 when the Canberraand Sea Princess where opperating cruises out of Southampton. Altogether to date I have spent over 350 nights at sea with P&O but I have still not managed to attain the top level on their loyalty scheme (excluding the two discretionary levels) P&O tell me that they are only interested in the money that we have spent with them after the year 2000 and are not prepared to give any credit whatsoever for the money spent before that date. Princess Cruises automatically award us thei top level Elite when we sail with them and th
