Formal night our first and as we were getting ready in between sitting having a G&T on our balcony the phone goes stupidly I allow my husband to answer it and he only agrees to have dinner with Mr & Mrs Brock-worthy so at 7pm prompt we knock their cabin door when we are greeted with a glass of champagne and canapés curtsey of Marigold she is such a darling. Dinner I have to say was surprisingly a jolly affair I think Mrs Brock-worthy was slightly squiffy as she insisted on buying another bottle of champagne and telling us all about the retreat and how lovely it is and how we are going to enjoy it when we use our free pass. The OH was about to drop me in it but he soon shut up with a heel in his ankle and the stare of ice which I find is a useful tool.

We went straight from dinner to the theatre to catch the show hubby limped all the way there, trust him to make a scene. The sow was very good apart from the late comers annoying it with their excuse me excuse me for goodness sake why do they insist on wanting the middle seats they should be made to stand at the back to watch or better still not allowed entry they certainly spoilt my ambience. I will be heading to reception tomorrow morning first thing to complain about it.

After the show we headed to the English pub for the pub quiz only to discover they had started without us so we had missed it, again I shall see reception in the morning it is totally wrong they started without us.  So we ended up playing the slot machines I won £20 but Mrs Brock-worthy had to do better and win £50 after a final drink we decided to wander around the prom deck before heading to bed ready for our first port of call in the morning. Bob was waiting for us in the cabin on our return the steward had changed him from his tux into his PJ's and tucked him in with his bed chocolate and made him a monkey to cuddle up to he is a much better steward than the last one.

If you want to change your dining allocation on a late saver  just go to the dining room  you will find that others will only be to happy to change, or see the Maitre D and make a request, they will often be able to accommodate you.

I regularly book late savers due to my OH medical scans we  can't book ahead and I'm dammed if I will take the select price  on sometimes a month before we sail when the best has gone  .
    /
As for this questionnaire  I shall  get one  in September when I sail on Ventura  what on earth do PO think they are doing  alienating their loyal passengers ?  I have almost 40 cruise's under my belt  and not a Suite in sight , also what about the spend on board?  drinks, fine dining , spas etc. just because you are a late saver  doesn't mean you don't spend money   . they really must have a dimwit in charge of their loyalty programme.c

To me it matters not whether you're booking a suite or inside cabin, loyalty bonuses should be based on the number of nights onboard.
If I book a suite I pay the extra to get the better cabin facilities, maybe butler service etc, etc, that to me is the benefit, if I book an inside cabin I pay less and expect a smaller cabin with less facilities etc.
In both cases I've spent the same amount of time onboard, showed the same loyalty to the company, why should either case be treated any different?

Yes we do live in a democracy, pity people do not remember that, now the brexiteers have won maybe the remainers will all stop moaning  , all that marching in London  , there were 2 men interviewed one voted out and the other in, they remarked that you wouldn't see this kind of behaviour  around the  rest  of the country,  only in London where they think they are entitled .

Please don't  blame Jo Cox's death on it  the man was obviously deranged, as for Yvette Cooper would that be the minister who was going to take  a refugee into one of her two homes? her children will have good schooling  you can bet your life on that, it's the rest of the children  in other parts of the country who are struggling to get a good education.

People have a right  to be worried .they voted according to their consciences  and circumstances .  the voters badly let down their parties and MP's , Tory  and Labour  alike  didn't listen  and they got a bloody nose because people exercised their democratic right . now that really is democracy not racism.!!! I agree re Wikipedia. Dreadful source of information that can be amended at the drop of hat to state anything you want it to. Inevitably it will be flagged and removed but If I wanted to make London the capital of the United States on there I could do so at will, albeit for a short space of time.

Less of the doom and gloom we are a great nation who have been through tougher times than this and come out smiling and we will do so again. We have not left Europe we are just going to decide our own fates and taking a different path and what seems scary might be the best path ever but we will only know by walking it.

Allocated yes...used no...it hasn't been necessary as the markets recovered quicker than all the so called "experts" predicted.
    From today's Independent.
"This substantial capital and huge liquidity gives banks the flexibility they need to continue to lend to UK businesses and households, even during challenging times.
Moreover, as a backstop, and to support the functioning of markets, the Bank of England stands ready to provide more than £250bn of additional funds through its normal facilities.
The Bank of England is also able to provide substantial liquidity in foreign currency, if required.
We expect institutions to draw on this funding if and when appropriate, just as we expect them to draw on their own resources as needed in order to provide credit, to support markets and to supply other financial services to the real economy.
In the coming weeks, the Bank will assess economic conditions and will consider any additional policy responses."
    Notice the words "stands ready"....

Rubbish..not one fact to back that up..scaremongering.
Our payment to the EU is 18 billion a year so you're saying we've paid that many times over propping up the pound since last Friday?
And no mention of it in any paper..but you know it?
Do you honestly think they could or would keep that quiet?

Brexit is working fine for me, on reducing my equities etc by a 7 figure sum in the last few months, I find that my hedge fund investing has led me to great profit over the last week or so, despite my voting for Leave.   Funny old world this one - all this money that is lost by the bank of england has to be won by someone, and luckily it seems to be me - I am rich lol (sorry for the tongue in cheek post to anyone who has to comment on here about how 'rich' they are, albeit not in a direct way).

Terminator, I also have yet to read of anywhere that states categorically that the Bank of England has had to prop up anything.   But when your equities are looking seriously awry, then I guess a bit of embroidery doesn't do any harm

It's a bit sad really that we will continue paying into the EU because we appear to be the only country out of the 28 who abide by all the rules and regulations of the EU - the rest of the countries just seem to dip in and out of the bits that suit them - particularly the French.   If we stopped paying them what would they do?   The German car market would start to cave in if they decided to punish us - we buy 20% of their vehicles - a big chunk - and a big loss to them should they start to be difficult.   We are the single largest importer of Champagne - some French would soon start to feel the pinch should we decide to kick it into touch and the French do so love striking and causing a fuss - our champagne ban would soon add fuel to their fire.

We make every assumption that we will always play their game - and probably we will, because we Brits are like that.    However, maybe the worm has started to turn.   Not just here, but in large parts of Europe as well.    From everything I read - the EU does not feel quite as stable as it did a week past Wednesday.

I don't think there will be any 'dregs'.   I think it is wise to wait a short while to see how/when/if the rest of the EU starts to implode - because that may make a big difference.   If nothing happens then we should move in.  But it also gives us more time for countries to decide, rather like the Germans have, that it is far wiser to play ball with us than to ostracise us - far, far wiser IMO.   We'll see.   As nations (and I include the USA in this) we need to start to 'fight' the political elite.   They don't have the best interests of their people at heart and need a very loud wake up call - the people of this country at least have had the courage to give them that.

Have cruised for over 20 years and so have never really kept a record of the number of cruises or the number of days at sea but we take about 3 cruises a year so I guess it's quite a lot. We prefer longer cruises of over 14 days and have never taken a cruise of less than 7 days.
We have sailed with many different cruise lines over the years these include Celebrity ,Azamara, Holland America , P&O ,NCL ,Princess ,Oceania , and my least favourite Royal Caribbean .
We have done fly cruises from many different locations in Europe , USA and Hawaiian Islands but these days prefer to sail from UK .
