  1. I HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM A FANTASTIC TWO NIGHT MINI CRUISE ON VENTURA TO CELEBRATE A GOOD FRIENDS 50TH BIRTHDAY. I HAVE SAILED ON VENTURA IN THE CARIBBEAN FOUR YEARS AGO AND ALTHOUGH YOU CAN TELL SHE IS THAT BIT OLDER AND A LITTLE TIRED AROUND THE EDGES, THIS DID NOT SPOIL OUR OVERALL ENJOYMENT. THE CRUISE GOT OFF TO A GREAT START. WE HAD FOUR BALCONIES ALL NEXT TO EACH OTHER AND OUR CABIN STEWARD VERY KINDLY OPENED UP THE PARTITIONS BETWEEN THEM MEANING WE COULD ALL CHAT AND ENJOY A FEW GLASSES OF CHAMPERS IN THE SUN. I WAS SURPRISED TO FIND THAT THE FORMAL EVENING WAS ON THE FIRST NIGHT
  2. I HAVE JUST BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A TOUR AROUND THE BRITANNIA AND WOW WHAT A SHIP !. LOVED HER SO MUCH THAT I HAVE BOOKED TO SAIL ON HER IN SEPTEMBER. THE BRITANNIA FOR ME IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER P&O SHIP ON THE INTERIOR. SHE RIVALS ANY 5* STAR HOTEL I HAVE STAYED IN BEING BOTH STYLISH AND CONTEMPORARY WITH THE MOST SPECTACULAR ATRIUM I HAVE EVER SEEN ON ANY SHIP . I THOUGHT THE CABINS WERE PERHAPS A LITTLE ON THE SMALLER SIDE, ( ESPECIALLY THE BATHROOMS ),BUT THERE WAS CLEARLY NO EXPENSE SPARED ON THE DECOR, AND FURNITURE. I HAVE BOOKED A CABIN TOWARDS THE AFT OF THE SHIP FOR MY FORT
  3. I went to this a couple of years ago. Its free to get in and a really lovely atmosphere. Have fun !
  4. Hello Tigerlilly, I have been to the Canaries several times in February/early March and the temperature is mild and warm ( 18-20 deg ). There is a bit of a breeze in the Canaries so this can make it feel cooler though. Does the cruise you are looking at leave from the uk ? because if this is the case then you are likely just to get three or four days of good weather, so make sure you choose a ship where there is plenty to do indoors !.
  5. I was referring to parents who can't work as they are looking after their children ( who are often disabled or worse still dying ! ). Isn't that what " Children in need" is all about ? I think A debate about the state of our benefits system comes under a different topic.
  6. THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO ACTUALLY GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO " GO TO WORK " AND SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES AND BE ABLE TO FEED THEIR CHILDREN. I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I WORK IN AN OFFICE OF GENEROUS FOLK WHO ARE CURRENTLY SELLING CAKES, DOING A TOMBOLA ETC. ETC. TO RAISE MONEY FOR THOSE LESS FORTUNATE !
  7. Hi, I am due to travel with p&o to the Caribbean soon flying with Thomas cook and I really don't think 23kgs of luggage is going to be enough!. I have been told that you can't even pay for extra luggage !. does anyone know if this is correct ?
  8. Hi Buddy, If you are a member with Bolsover cruise club they send you a quartely membership magazine. Its really well put together and full of great offers as well as really informative articles and interviews
  9. I think if you called Bolsover cruise club I am sure they would be more then happy to send you another copy. I am looking forward to receiving the next edition
  10. I ALSO THINK THAT IS A FAIR POINT BEARTOES, BUT WOULD INSURANCE COMPANIES BE PREPARED TO COUGH UP IF YOU WERE GENUINELY ILL AND REFUSED BOARDING ?
  11. I was wondering if when filling out the health form at the port, what would happen if I had suffered from a sickness bug prior to this ? would I be be refused boarding ? and If I was would I be given a full refund from the cruise company ? I wouldn't want to be caught out losing all my money as It doesn't say in my Travel Insurance that I would be covered for this.
  12. Hello Fi Fi, I have been on the Eclipse which is pretty much the same ship/layout etc. Stunning ship ! lots of outdoor space so perfect for a cruise around Alaska. I found the food/service/entertainment with Celebrity outstanding .
