  1. Hello Dave my wife and I did christmas week and new year week on the celebration over the same period last year. looking at the photo of you cabin I think you were unlucky not to have had one of the recently refurbished ones . We were lucky in this respect with a flat screen TV tea and coffee faciliites new beds etc. Have to agree with the walls though very thin. We paid £1240 for an inside on deck 4 for the 2 weeks all inclusive but we did book early and managed to get the free AI package. We have cruised with Pand O , Princess, Royal carribean, Celebrity etc (never with Fred though ) and we genuinely believe its unfair to compare Thomsons with these products due to the major cost difference. I think for us we would use one of the major lines for our main summer cruise but find Thomsons an affordable means of picking up an extra cruise either early or later in the year. Glad you enjoyed the service and atmosphere aboard. We thought they did a really great job of the christmas day celebrations and new years eve party on the deck and later in the crows nest was great. We thought the pipe band in the dining room for new years was a lovely touch.
  2. Reaearh has shown that you are far more likely to book ma cruise / holiday if you speak to a person . hence the dumbing down of the website .. clever ploy.

    Thomson Celebration

My wife and I were in the red Sea on the Celebration last Christmas. Older ship shakes rattles and rolls a bit, That said food good really good entertainment as mentioned above far less stuffy than some of the bigger lines. The staff are awesome, You will enjoy I am sure. If you have cruised with say P and O or Celebrity or such do not expect the same kind of experience as said above older smaller ships but very friendly and great service.
