I agree with tj42, the wrist bands work for me everytime!

Having just recently returned from a 7 night Arabian Gulf cruise on board Vision of the Seas with RCI, I would love to do this Itinerary again. Although I have to agree Khasab isn't a great port with not much to offer. I got an absolute bargain on this cruise paying only £650pp for the cruise, flights and transfers, I would happily pay this again, although P&O's prices are quite a bit more and only 3 days longer!

That's really helpful OWT, thank you x

Old World Traveller I would be interested in the site that you used to pre purchase the HOHO bus in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Muscat. I am taking the cruise a week on Sunday and have had mixed reports on the HOHO Bus, some saying to book it is an excursion through RCI, and someone else advised to sort whilst on board! I'm not sure which to do for the best!!

I have to admit I did watch ''Thecruise'' and found it really good, my partner and I are due to take a cruise in a couple of week, although I have cruised previously my partner hasn't, so the programme gave him a good insight as to what to expect!

Such a great price!!!

So, I have just booked my first cruise with RCI on board Vision of the Seas for March 2017 for the Dubai sailing....very excited! I have always wanted to holiday in Dubai, so saw this Itinerary and thought it would be a perfect way of seeing Dubai and having the cruise element also. Any recommendations/advice on places to see/visit whilst in Dubai & Oman?
Thanks in advance!

I have to agree with you Dpritchard - I also sailed on Oceana last year and thought she was lovely, the service from the staff couldn't have been better and the food was amazing. I think she has a very welcoming atmosphere on board. I would definitely recommend!!!

On arrival in Lisbon I was so impressed with how the ship looked, although a small ship she did seem bigger than what I was expecting. It certainly had the 'wow' factor, and that was before we even stepped on board!
Walking from my cabin to the ship I managed to take in the surrounding areas of the ship, and it was so beautifully decorated and very light which made it feel even more spacious. On arrival to the buffet I was again really impressed, it wasn’t like any other ship I had been on where there were crowds of people, it was very calm and the food was set out on one long station and although there was plenty of choice, you weren't over faced with a silly amount of food. The quality of the food was out of this world, so fresh and you could again have things cooked to you're liking. I would definitely recommend the home made ice cream and cookies!! The wine waiter came round continuously and you're glass was never empty…again a bonus! We were sat on the terrace overlooking the Infinity Pool whilst we had lunch and the setting was so nice.
I dined on the first evening in Manfredi's Italian Restaurant. All through the day I over heard guests raving about the Steak, im not a fan of Steak normally but had to try it to see what the fuss was about…it was delicious, literally melted in you're mouth! The portions are huge though and although I enjoyed the Calimari starter, I was too full by the time the main arrived…although having said that I did manage to order two deserts as I couldn’t make my mind up as to which one to have, I shared them of course
The Spa on board is like no other Spa I have been to or seen before, the pool thermal beds and steam room along with the Scandinavian Snow Grotto are all free to use. The Snow Grotto is so unusual, and a real USP for the ship. I stepped into it, sat down for a second on the seat that was provided and then left rather quickly, I think I got frost bite it was that cold!! When you enter the changing rooms for the Spa there are lockers with towels, bathrobes and slippers provided. You locked the locker with your own key card which was different and they also had a complimentary swimming costume dryer, very clever idea.
I decided to have some lunch round the pool and order from the poolside menu, there was so much choice and again the food was yummy. The pool area itself wasn’t overly big but had enough loungers and some really comfy sofa's that most guests were sat on whilst having a drink or something to eat.
I then ate at the 'Chef's Table' on the second evening , I was shocked to learn there was no surcharge for this as it was such an experience. The Chef's Table is a taster Menu which changed every three days, and was a 7 course taster menu, the food was so different and I can only begin to describe the food as what someone like Heston Blumenthel would create. Each course was then accompanied by a different wine to match the dish.
Afternoon Tea in the Winter Garden seemed to be very popular. The Winter Garden itself is set just close to the pool area, it has very comfy sofa's and a see-through roof which has a wooden effect design to it. It was a nice place to relax, and again the Afternoon Tea was complimentary which offered at least 15 types of tea, finger sandwiches and cream cakes.
I would have no hesitation in sailing on this ship again, it was an amazing experience!!!

I have to say not necessarily a main course, but my favourite desert has to be the Choc Fudge Cake in the Beach House on Ventura..Yum!!!

I am due to take a 7 night fly cruise on Oceana in Sept and have a girl of two that I am taking with me. I would really appreciate any advice/recommendations that can be given for child-friendly shore excursions for the following ports:
- Genoa
- Florence/Pisa
- Naples
- Dubrovnik
- Venice
Thanks in advance

I have never done a British Isles cruise, and it has never really appealed to me before, however, all I hear are good reports and for something a little different too - maybe it is worth a try. I think you can generally pick up really good deal's on this sort of Itinerary too.

I think this is a great idea, I know I am always disappointed that many cruise companies dont offer flights from more local airports to me like East Midlands and Doncaster. For anyone living near to Stanstead im sure this will be very much welcomed
-
I am very much looking forward to my cruise on Oceana in Sept - I have a two year old and I just wondered what facilities would be available, I know there is the kids club, but would that be open on an evening? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have to say I was lucky enough to stay overnight on Board Britannia last weekend and what a Beautiful Ship she is!
From the moment you step on board, she really does have the 'WOW' Factor - The Atrium, is by far one of the nicest I have seen.
Having a little girl I was curious as to what the Children's Play Area was like on board and I was impressed with this also, plenty of facilities to suit different child ages.
I was shocked at the size of the cabins, they were smaller than what I had imagined but beautifully decorated.
I like the modern and contemporary design and style of the ship - particulary the cabin numbers outside the cabin that are lit up on a plaque - very good idea!
The bars and public area's again are great - I have to say the Glass House was probably my favourite!
I am booked on Azura in November, but im very tempted to change this to Britannia she really is that nice.

TK Max always have lovely cocktail dresses, designer names at really good prices

Ive booked on board Azura for November, and watching the naming ceremony for Britannia really made me want to change my cruise
