  1. It was lovely to read that the Bolsover team have won 2 more awards Best Independent Travel Agency and Best Cruise Holiday Retailer. Congratulations to all, no other club comes close to your customer service. It is well deserved
  2. Hi we have just renewed our passports online and had 9 months left to go. They do still let you do this and we have 10years and 9 months on the shiny new passports. However both passports went to different offices, had we gone to the post office they would have gone to the same office. Both photos had a white edge showing, hubbies was accepted but Newport chucked my photo out. Took a lot of prising that info out of them, dealing with HMRC is easier than the passport office. The post office is quicker.
  3. We have just watched the short video on the makeover of non suite cabins and they will look very nice, totally stripped out and full makeover, cream and beige colours used. Schedule for refurbs starts next year through to 2023 and involves the whole fleet including the ships that were up for sale.
  4. we are booked on Silhouette in May as yet nothing to say any different. Fingers crossed as this area is new to us

    Currency help

we are going to the Baltics in May but not sure if I have to obtain all the different currencies, it would be used mostly for a drink whilst out sightseeing. I have got my roubles for St Petersburg as I have a tour to pay for. However do the other ports take Euros or Dollars or do we need to get the various Krona etc. Am I better off changing a small amount of pounds/dollars/euros to local currency at guest relations each day?? Your help would be appreciated.
  7. We too book Celebrity and Bolsover have never charged us for using either Visa or Amex, unlike some TA's. This is why we keep coming back to Bolsover or Celebrity direct.
  8. Hi all, shorthaul we use Jet2, they are usually on time and their seats do NOT recline and come with 22kg allowance. we try to use British Airways as a first choice for long haul and if we can use Avios we do, however if not possible then for the Far East it would be first choice Etihad and then Emirates. We did like Monarch for short haul but sadly no more. will never touch Ryanair.
  9. update on my post, we have now changed our package and are only staying the night at the Hilton and are going to park at the dock with ABP, thank you for discount Bolsover.
  10. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL looking forward to next years cruises and adventures
  11. We have been looking at MSC and they do have some good looking itineraries. However feedback so far is not good on their service levels. Has anyone out there had good experiences of them and had their other cruise line loyalty levels transferred to MSC too. HELP undecided
  12. thank you all, we have looked at all your suggestions, at present we have booked the Hilton Ageas Bowl with parking transfers and breakfast. now to study the excursions for this trip. merry Christmas to everyone
  13. Thanks for info so far, we are also going to Kristiansand, Copenhagan, Tallin, Helsinki, and Skagen, Sillhouette 7th May. any info gratefully received.
  14. We have just booked a baltics cruise and would appreciate ideas on what to see and what to avoid. Would you use ship tours for St Petersburg or a private tour? Also we have never cruised from Southampton before, always fly cruised, where do you park and any recommendations for overnight hotels would be appreciated.
  15. we have cruised on this ship when it was Airtours Sunbird, apart from the loo loosing its vacuum we had 3 very good back to back holidays. Hubbie watched which lever the plumber pressed to recharge the system in the cupboard in corridor and after that we did the recharge ourselves. Hope you enjoy your cruise

    CUBA

Years ago we did an Airtours cruise that went into Havana, what a lovely city, yes it was faded and needed renovation but lovely non the less. We felt safe wandering around the city and when we got lost we never felt threatened. It will be nice to go back to revisit, hope everyone else who goes enjoys it as we did
  17. Hi, we switched using this system over a year ago, we moved to Santander and we didn't have any problems, Apparently the outgoing bank forwards any transactions to your new account for 3 months before sending back to whomever, hope this helps, I am sure that some people may say otherwise, as its all electronic things can sometimes go wrong.
  18. Hi We did this tour quite a few years ago when we were a lot fitter. It is well worth it, you get to go to the very top of the crater and look down into the volcano, and then it was still smoking. The views are amazing and the air clean, Hope you enjoy it.
  19. Big thank you to Celebrity and all the security guys who kept us safe during the 3 nights of L.O.V.E. (lights out virtually everywhere). A tanker following 3 hours behind us was taken by the pirates,
  20. I agree, good video, also visited several times including old building. Always a warm welcome. thank you Bolsover
  21. My husband and I were also on this cruise, we knew the ship was going to dry dock this weekend and not to look too hard at the ship itself. However the food had improved greatly since January. Yes they could have had a couple more ports but the reason we close it was gor Suez and Jordan and neither disappointed. Looking forwArd to seeing what the differences will be, Chief Housekeeper stated nothing was bring left untouched!!
  22. Hi try the Hop On Hop Off bus to cover a lot of the sights and then go back to spend more time at those you like the look of. However, the Gardens on the Bay are lovely to spend half a day at as is the Botanical Gardens but they are at opposite sides of the city to each other. The flyer is also amazing. If you get the chance try the Night Zoo, they take you around the zoo in trams and then you get to wander at your leisure, you see all the nocturnal animals waking up, this is one of the most recommended tours. Finish off with your Singapore Sling at Raffles.
  23. We try to book our own flights for Europe as they work out cheaper, we book cruise and transfers from the company then we get to pick the airport and fly direct.
  24. Good afternoon all We were on Celebrity Constellation that has just transited Suez back to the Mediterranean, We followed Queen Mary. My question is, was anybody from this forum on the QM and if so, would they have any photos of Constellation following them. Would they like to swap as I have quite a few from mooring at the entrance, transiting through and out to the open sea again. Hope someone can help
  25. Hi, if the cost difference is around £100 or less then try Aqua, if you don't like the food in Blu then go to the MDR, there is no restriction. Blu is a very nice and relaxed dining room and that in itself is worth the extra. The staff have more time for you and its not like eating on a conveyor belt. The portions are smaller too than the MDR and the food is tasty. (I am not mean but wont pay more than £100 each for the upgrade which is why we are not travelling Aqua at the moment but should prices fall then we will change)
