  1. Azamara Quest... nice! Never sailed with them but I get the impression it's very laid back and more relaxed than other cruise lines. The North Coast 500 looks amazing. Hopefully in 6 weeks time the weather should have picked up. How long will it take you? I'd love to do a river cruise but I think my kids would miss the beach.
  2. Don't blame you, who doesn't love the sun! I still need to do the Caribbean
  3. Over 570 days, I thought my wait was bad. Only 499 today
  4. 28 day Caribbean cruise sounds great mitch! It's fantastic that you can still get to see the world without the need to fly.
  5. Pointless then. We've never had an issue getting on or had to wait. Usually on the ship for 1pm. Not sure what time boarding starts, maybe we are just late.
  6. Wow, that's a lot of cruises booked - lucky you. We went on Ventura in 2016. What are you fancying for 2020? You could wait and book on the new P&O ship
  7. Depends how early. If it was 8am it would be like an extra day at sea. Providing that the ship's facilities are available to use and you can get food and drinks then I think it's a good idea. Expect they would want to get the previous passengers off first though. If it's only 1 or 2 hours before the normal time then there isn't much point.
  8. I agree, the new initial looks much better
  9. Just booked our holiday through Bolsover for next year, it's 500 days away! This is the longest we have ever had to wait for a holiday as we always book last minute. We do have a few other holidays planned for this year, so not too bad I suppose. How many days until your next cruise?
  10. £22 for the duration of the holiday isn't bad at all. If it was £22 a day then that would be too much!
  11. You'd have thought so, especially as they have already taken her away once!
  12. Not sure Furby. I can't imagine people actually asking the staff directly what they earn, is that what you're suggesting? You wouldn't walk into a hospital and ask a nurse what he or she gets paid but that doesn't stop the media writing about it and people talking about it. Also, I'm sure cruise ship staff pay was big news a few years back and I'm sure there was a TV programme where somebody went undercover on a ship to investigate wages.
  13. Maybe they wonder what it takes to have to put up with some of the obnoxious twits you find on cruises! Think it will always be a topic of discussion, as it is with tips.
  14. Great news, something else to look forward to. I like Queen Anne.
  15. £674 per month for a waiter. Let's say they work 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, that would work out around £26 per day, or £3.25 per hour. Chances are they probably work more hours than this so it would be less.
  16. Oh no, this will upset a few people, especially those that have cruises booked. Making way for the super sized cruise ships I expect...
  17. Some great ideas there Cruise Chef You see, that is why I said it would need to be classy. I'm not talking Cleethorpe's sea front, although some donkey rides around the promenade might go down well for those who have ate too much at dinner
  18. How about a mini ferris wheel, helter skelter and waltzer? Oh and don't forget the claw machines and coin pushers in the amusements Seriously though, I'm sure P&O's design team could come up with something unique. NCL and RCI don't struggle to pack this stuff in. I mean look at this thing, there's fun absolutely everywhere you look.. !!
  19. Not sure how I'd feel about it if I was offered the chance. Think I'd stay and stick it out with the family. Plus I wouldn't want to leave the dog to fend for himself!
  20. Lots of seats in the smoking area there and even sunbeds during the day. If you can't find a spare seat just grab one from somewhere else and move it into the smoking area.
  21. Nobody seems to like smokers these days and it's hard to believe that not so long ago people were free to smoke in pubs and even restaurants. I find the thought of somebody smoking where I'm eating quite disgusting now. I wouldn't worry as there have always been plenty of smokers on the ships I have sailed on. It's a bit stinky when only using an ecig but needs must
  22. Used an ecig on our Ventura cruise last year. One evening we were sat up at the breakers bar, above the pool area. This is one of the areas where it is ok to use them, well on one side of the ship it is. There was only a table available on the non smoking side, which was actually quite central, literally 2 foot from the smoking side. One of the waiters came up to me and said I couldn't use the ecig there, so I moved the chair 2 foot back and it was ok. Seems a little crazy but I suppose rules are rules. I occasionally used the ecig in the cabin and on the balcony and didn't get captured
  23. Nice of Royal Caribbean… https://finance.yahoo.com/news/royal-caribbean-opens-cruise-ship-191300488.html How would you feel about leaving extended family and pets?
