  7. The ships are smaller but perfectly formed. They are large enough to have all the facilities you would want in a classic cruise ship but small enough to make getting around and getting on and off the ship effortless. The staff are wonderful and make for a delightful holiday.
  8. I did the same cruise this year. This is a great ship for the winter cruises as it has the retractable roof over the swimming pool so it can be used all year. we had a meal in the Glass House, it was fantastic. The food was an excellent standard and delicious and the surroundings and ambience of the venue made for an excellent evening. The transfer coaches drop you off in the nearby village to enable you to get the train into Bruges. We though picked up a taxi outside the train station which was very reasonable and he arranged to pick us up and bring us back to the ship.
  9. THE GLASS HOUSE, VENTURA It was beautiful food in a lovely setting. You could almost forget you were on a ship.
  10. Mangez bien, riez souvent, aimez beaucoup means..... Eat well, laugh often, love abundantly. Oceania cruises which is so up and coming is all about food and is hosting cruises by their renowned French Chef Jacques Pepin. What do you think of Oceania? It has some amazing prices and offers and is surely worth a try if you want to break away from the mainstream.
  11. NCl Jade has some really interesting cruises from Southampton in 2017. Seems to be mostly Northern Europe. The Iceland cruise looks really interesting. Nice to see a different brand offering an alternative concept out of the UK.
  12. Celebrity are introducing a new concept for the families on their ships called "Summer Camps at Sea" They will be introducing things like Marine biology to cookery. Sounds like a really interesting new way of encouraging families onto ships. What do you think?
  13. Crystal Luxury Air will offer "extravagant around-the-world trips in the world's most advanced twin-aisle Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The plush aircraft, which usually seats 300, will take just 60 guests in fully reclining business class seats to destinations to which major airlines do not offer a non-stop service.
  14. Its a few years ago but I did a Norwegian Fjords cruise with Fred Olsen out of Newcastle. The port was so easy to get to and parking was well organised directly next to the port. If I had the choice of ports to sail out of from the UK it would either be Newcastle or Liverpool. Both are so easy. I do live in Derbyshire though so both these ports are so much closer for me as well.
  15. New Ship Sirena to join the Oceania Fleet after undergoing a 40 million dollar refit in March 2016.
  16. Thanks for the information. which ship did you travel on?
  17. Its a tough one. I really enjoyed the chance to look around the historical site of Pompeii but its inevitable that damage may be sustained. These countries do really need visitors though.
  18. Has anyone recently travelled on a Costa Cruise Ship? Interested to know your experience.
  19. A Cove Balcony are found lower down on the ships for example on deck 2. You feel like you are much closer to the ocean. They are enclosed. I have attached a picture to show you.

  21. Has anyone ever stayed in a Cove Balcony on Carnival Cruise Line?
